About Me

August 9, 2017

My name is Rachel Pehrsson. I’m a front-end programmer at Scholastic Inc in New York City, NY, predominately working in React. I previously worked at Sapio Sciences LLC in York, PA. In 2022, I graduated with my Masters of Educational Technology and Applied Learning Science (METALS) from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, and in 2018, I graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Computer Science and Studio Art. My passions include web development, Edtech, accessibility, illustration, and making your company’s dynamically generated PDFs look very swanky.

I founded and run a small charity called Food for the Fourth aimed at increasing food bank donations in summer months.

In my free time, I enjoy painting, writing, point-and-click adventure games, swing dancing, listening to music, reading comic books, and playing with my cat, Toby. He’s the charmer of the household.
